Safe America Press Conference at Georgia State Capitol Sept 14

Atlanta, GA – Safe America Foundation to Host Press Conference at Georgia State Capitol Honoring North Clayton High School Students; Announcing Upcoming Safety Conference with Special City Officials Invited

The SafeAmerica Foundation will host a special press conference at the Georgia State Capitol grounds this Thursday, September 14 starting at 11 am.  The event will host city officials, and announce plans for the upcoming WorldSafe Summit and Training for Global Safety Conference.

In addition, the Foundation will give special recognition to students from North Clayton High who created the Augmented Reality School Bus Inspection App.

Dr. Eboni Chillis from Clayton County Schools reports that “through an accelerated program, students created a virtual/augmented reality School Bus Inspection App in partnership with The Flying Classroom STEM+ and Spinteractive.” Students in grades 10 and 11 (sophomores and juniors) created the innovative safety app.

The School Bus Inspection App will be used by the Clayton County Public Schools Transportation Department to streamline inspections and effectively train employees on the inspection process based on a 25-point system and seven focus areas.

“It is exciting to see the creativity of these high school students,” says Len Pagano. CEO of the SafeAmerica Foundation.  “They deserve recognition for their solution to better bus safety.”

In addition, SafeAmerica CEO Len Pagano will highlight what the organization has done with its partner Allstate for veterans. Pagano and his staff will present some of the 500 hygiene kits to the VA Medical Center at the press conference. Allstate donated 400 of the 500 kits, with employees helping SafeAmerica staff in putting the hygiene kits together.

Also on tap at the press conference will be new information about the upcoming safety conference planned for October 26-28, 2017.  The conference will be focused on 5 areas that impact safety in everyday life including transportation (rail, air and auto/trucking), community safety (including protecting athletes and aiding war-zone veterans), disaster resiliency; technology/cyber security and global issues such as fighting human trafficking and global warming.

Training for Global Safety, will attract individuals from industry, government and non-profit organizations. UPS is one of the major sponsors of the ‘WorldSafe Summit’ which will be another step forward in advancing Miller’s shift in company focus toward providing innovative, technologically advanced safety solutions for the rail industry.

Safe America Foundation President & CEO Len Pagano noted the ‘WorldSafe Summit’ will feature a ‘kick off’ with pro athletes at the College Football Hall of Fame. Entitled ‘Play It Safe, America,” the evening event will focus on the need to protect athletes and reducing trauma from sports for both pro and amateur athletics.
