Summer’s Boosting Driver’s Ed Training

Summer’s Boosting Driver’s Ed Training

Since 2001, Safe America has trained over 10,000 teenagers. And, while Covid-19 cut in-house training, this summer’s seeing it re-launch with over 150 students expected!

“We’re proud of the in-class work that Carol Pilgrim is doing,” noted President & CEO Len Pagano. “Thanks to Carol, the training is getting students ‘ready’ to apply for a driver’s license. And, Carol and other instructors will also offer practice sessions in cars that can get students approved for a license. That’s great news – and good for high school students to travel safely.”

Pagano thanked Angela Krause Ford Dealership President Zack Krause for their support. He noted the Roswell/Alpharetta Ford dealership is seeking to finalize in-dealership training that will help Safe America get more students trained – as well as their parents!

“Expanding adult training – along with public safety (police officer) training – is our goal,” Pagano observed. “Thanks to College Park and Clayton County, we’re helping train over 300 police officers and will do MORE to expand within Georgia – and then expand in other states.”

Pagano added that with the ‘SEAT‘ Division (Securing Every Americans’ Transportation) is also doing more to support ‘Driving Skills for Life.’ The Ford program – led by executive Jim Graham – was discussed on a recent WebEx call with CEO Network members. “We’re proud of what Jim Graham’s doing – and look forward to helping promote his ‘Driving Skills’ events – including one planned for Georgia this fall,” Pagano said. “Using our ‘pun,’ we want people to ‘take a Seat’ with us to improve their driving and avoid collisions with cars or pedestrians.”

Pagano also thanked Norfolk Southern executive Tommy Phillips for his support and noted that Safe America will work this fall to show more safety with the local Operation Lifesaver non-profit led by Board member Franklin Brown and its non-profit executive, Jennie Glasgow.

“Whether you’re on a plane, car or train, we want transportation to be safe in EVERY SEAT.”
